EGPA and IMPGT (Institute of Public Management and Territorial Governance) – Université Paul Cézanne Aix-Marseille III organised since 2008 in collaboration with ENA (Ecole Nationale d’Administration, Strasbourg), the Euro-Mediterranean Dialogues on Public Management.

The ambition is to make of these dialogues, a place to exchange ideas, thoughts and analysis on the Mediterranean practices of public management. These meetings are an opportunity to create and develop a community of Mediterranean researchers Public Management.

The dialogues are open to elected officials, civil servants, managers of international development organisations and of course to the academic community.

Each conference is preceded by a PhD workshop whose aim is to bring together young researchers in public management working on the Euro-Mediterranean area and develop a network of doctoral students from both shores of the Mediterranean.

The first three dialogues have helped initiate this round of Mediterranean Public Management. In October 2008, the MED 1 took place in France, in Aix en Provence. The MED2 then turned in October 2009, to EMUNI’s (Euro-Mediterranean University) headquarter in Portoroz, Slovenia, before landing on the South Bank in October 2010, in Tunis, Tunisia.

The upcoming MED4 will remain in southern shores of the Mediterranean and will be held in Morocco …

Sorry, the text is in French only Le virage, difficile mais inévitable, que tentent de bien négocier les pays dits développés, après la crise financière qui vient de secouer l’économie...

The Conference is organized by the Pole – Sustainable development and Mediterranean Territories – Paul Cezanne University. It is in the extension of the conference on the sustainable development in the Mediterranean space, organized in June, 2009, which allowed to put the stakes and the challenges with which are confronted the countries of the Mediterranean in terms of sustainability and to discuss on the way of answering them.

This new Conference wishes to emphasize original forms of research on the sustainable development around the concepts of vulnerability, equity and territorial creativity. It has for ambition to be at the same time a meeting between researchers and public and private actors and a space of debates and propositions where scientific analyses are confronted on these topics.

For every stake, a set of themes is proposed, whose list is not exhaustive. Three key concepts of reflection of the Conference (vulnerability, equity and territorial creativity) can be treated in an independent way. Nevertheless, the proposals which simultaneously integrate these questions, in reference to the sustainable development, will be favoured.
